RULES for MID AMERICA TIME TRIAL SERIES, TOUR of ILLINOIS & WISCONSIN & RIDER of the YEAR

 WIIL events are sanctioned by ABR.  Below are special rules for this WI-IL Series.

 

GENERAL RULES: for Mid America Time Trial Series (MATTS), Tour of Illinois & Wisconsin (TOI/W) & Rider of the Year (ROTY) events:

This is a Season Overall Series to determine top riders in each discipline and best all around.

Series Overall Awards and Prizes require MINIMUM participation to qualify for end-of-season awards (cash, prizes,medals and/or plaques, jersey). Presented to top riders at the WIIL Awards Banquet at end of season.

Medals will be awarded 5 deep in each race class.

Race Promoters will pay a WIIL Association Fee of $1.00 per rider per day to be used to cover cost of Overall Awards and Jerseys, Banquet, series advertising, and shared equipment. MATTS Promoters pool Grant funds together to provide MATTS Medals & MATTS Overall Cash Awards.

Entry fees will be at the discretion of the race promoters.

Chief Official is responsible for providing race results to the Points Tabulator and ABR no later than the day after the event date.  

Pending results will be posted to the website no later than 24 hours after the end of the event.

WILL Promoters agree to use the same Excel Results spreadheets to make it easy for WILL Points Tabulatior to Point WILL Series' quickly and efficiently.

Official Results must be posted within five days after the event.Racers may enter & race for more than one (1) eligible race class (example: enter twice, race twice, etc.) Women race classes are open to women only. All Open race classes are open to both genders. Recumbent/Tandem /HPV are a combined class (Time Trials only) 

 Riders must race their age to be eligible for series overall awards.   **Riders who race outside their age category in mass start events will be eligible for event awards, but their results will not be calculated into overall TOI/W or ROTY points as of Jan 1, 2014. 

There is no racing down in age permitted in Mid America Time Trial Events as of December 31, 2012.

Participation requires starting, racers who start but fail to finish (DNF) an event will qualify for that event.

Tour of Illinois Wisconsin Mass Start Series Race Classes and Rules

 

  

Description:

 

This race series is comprised of criterium and road racing events in the Illinois Wisconsin Area.  Riders earn points based on their finish in these events towards awards at the end of the season.

 

Race classes:

 

Junior Open age 14 & Under and 15-18 Junior Women age 14 & under and 15-18 Open (Cat 1/2/3), Cat 3, Cat 4, Women Open (Cat 1/2/3), Women Cat 4 Men and Women Masters age groups: 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ 80+, 90+.

 

TOI/W Points and Scoring and Awards:

 

Awards 5 deep in each class

 

10 Deep for  All Juniors, All Women race classes and Recumbent/Tandem/HPV and Masters 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+, 90+  Points: 12 for 1st, 10 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd, 7 for 4th, 6 for 5th, 5 for 6th, 4 for 7th, 3 for 8th, 2 for 9th, 1 for 10th.


20 deep Men’s ability Categories as follows:: 25 for 1st, 22 for 2nd, 20 for 3rd, 19 for 4th, 18 for 5th, 17 for 6th, 16 for 7th, 15 for 8th, 14 for 9th, 13 for 10th, 12 for 11th, 11 for 12th, 10 for 13th, 9 for 14th, 8 for 15th, 7 for 16th, 6 for 17th, 5 for 18th, 4 for 19th, 3 for 20th.


Double points or other incentive points offered by a promoter for their series will not apply to the above scoring.

Participation requires starting.  Racers who start but fail to finish (DNF) an event will qualify for that event.  No points will be given.  Instead, an “X” will be put in the point tabulation column for events riders DNF.  

 

Series Overall Awards and Prizes:  

 
Riders competing in this series must complete in at least five (5) TOI/W events and must race current age or category to qualify for overall trophy awards.   

 

***Riders may race down in category at individual events and qualify for awards at individual events.  Events where a rider races down in age will not be eligible for points towards Tour of Illinois Wisconsin season overall awards.

 

Rider of The Year (ROTY) Series Race Classes and Rules 

 

Description: 

 

This series combines points from TOI/W, MATTS and ROTY special events. Riders can earn points in both mass start and time trial events towards overall awards at the end of the season.

  

Race Classes:

 

Junior Men and Junior Women age 14 and under and 15-18.

Women Open (1,2,3) Women 4, Women Masters 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+, 60+ 65+, 70+, 75+, & 80+, 90+

 

Men’s Ability Categories Cat 1/2, Cat 3, Cat 4,  and  Age Groups: 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ & 80+ 90+. (Points from MATTS Age Class: 30-34 & 35-39 merged into 30+, 40-44 & 45-49 merged into 40+)

 

Points Tabulation:

Points from MATTS - Women age 20 to 29 merges into Women category 1,2,3 or 4.  Women Age classes, Age Class 30-34 & 35-39 merge into 30+, 40-44 & 45-49 merge into 40+.


Points from MATTS- Men age 20-29 merge into rider Category 1/2, Cat 3 or Cat 4.  Men age groups: (Points from MATTS Age Class: 30-34 & 35-39 merged into 30+, 40-44 & 45-49 merged into 40+.

Awards and Scoring:
